Music at the Meadows: Northwest contemporary musicians Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel appear August 15 at a new outdoor concert facility in the rolling Stanwood foothills east of I-5. The new concert series opens August 1 with the Pacific Chamber Orchestra.

Stanwood “hit for the open” yesterday — the Fourth of July. Scores of Stanwood residents chose to follow the safe and sane method of observing the anniversary of the nation’s independence in the peaceful solitude of beach and mountain stream; or they took to the highways and wandered whither the road might lead.
