Camano man carves totems for hometown
Bob Canterbury recently took his chainsaw to two cedar trees.
Pieces fell away, chips flew and sawdust piled up, and within a month he had transformed the logs into totem poles.
Eventually, the totems will grace the Quilcene Community Center’s new outdoor stage, in Quilcene, Wash., on the Olympic Peninsula, Canterbury said. Full Story
County proposes changing dog fees
Public hearing Feb. 27
If you live in Island County, Fido might get more expensive on March 1.
A public hearing on proposed dog-related fee changes is scheduled for Feb. 27 at 2:15 p.m. in Coupeville.
The changes involve chapter 6.08 of Island County Code, and essentially doubles all dog-related fees. Full Story
