ALFRED GOODSELL

June 15, 1924 - January 21, 2012

One of the greatest men that ever walked this earth passed away January 21, 2012. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, World War II Veteran and a friend to all that wanted one, Alfred Goodsell, my father, you will be missed.

WE LOVE YOU DAD!

Rest in peace and let the trumpet blow in heaven for the arrival of a great, great man.

Born June 15, 1924, in Lincoln, N.H., Alfred Goodsell, husband of Rita Goodsell, went to be with Jesus in heaven at the age of 87.

He was preceded in death by his son, David Goodsell; his brother, Wells Hassett; and his sister, Louise Turner.

Alfred did everything for his family; his family was the most precious gift to him.

He was married to Rita for 57 years. He met her in 1953 when he was stationed in Germany in the Army.

He had many happy times with his wife, including having four children.

He spent 23 years in the Army, and after surviving WWII and Korea, he retired in 1966 and traveled the world. Rita and Alfred moved to Washington state where he worked for the Boeing Company for 14 years. After retiring from Boeing, they moved to Camano Island where they purchased acreage and had a small farm.

He loved gardening, camping and woodworking, including building furniture.

He also enjoyed refurbishing old cars and sold a number of them.

He is survived by his wife Rita Goodsell; three children Connie Cauchon (Gene), Lisa Brandt (Ken), Mark Goodsell (Luisa), 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and many relatives in Germany, Texas, Colorado, Washington, Arizona and Canada.

Spread your wings and fly to your son that you missed so deeply, he is waiting for you.

A graveside service at Anderson Cemetery will begin at 11 a.m., Feb. 3, 2012.

A memorial brunch will be served at his daughter’s house after the service.
