Barring any major storm, beginning tomorrow evening, Wednesday, January 25, the PUD will be replacing a bad conductor on a major transmission line serving Camano Island. The PUD estimates the work time to replace this conductor will be five to seven hours, during which time power will not be available anywhere on Camano Island.
The work is expected to begin around 10 pm on Wednesday night and will be completed by 5:00 am Thursday morning, January 26. If customers are dependent on power for life support, they should plan now to make other arrangements for that night.
Additionally, because of where the conductor is located, the PUD will be closing one lane of the Mark Clark Bridge from 8 pm Wednesday night until 5 a.m. Thursday morning, causing delays for anyone planning to go on or off the island during that time.
