That was the unanimous, but reluctant, decision made at a relatively packed city council meeting Thursday night.

Basil Badley, husband of Senator Mary Margaret Haugen (D - Wash.), lost the case brought against him by Courtney Jones, Haugen’s former campaign manager.

Phones are ringing off the hook at Snohomish County weed board offices as people call in to report sightings of tansy ragwort (Senecio jacobaea), in Western Washington, and in some cases starting to set seed.

BILLIE JEAN EICHHORN February 16, 1929 - September 1, 2011
Billie Jean Eichhorn passed into the arms of her savior in the early morning hours of Thursday, Sept. 1, to join the loved ones who had passed before, especially her sons, Michael and Daniel.
She was born Feb. 16, 1929, in Broken Bow, Okla., to Ira and Ruby Driggars.
She married Ownes Brinkley in 1947 and they had three sons. Full Story

Mabel J. Waterman, 95, passed away peacefully Sept. 7, after residing at Mira Vista Long Term Care Center in Mount Vernon for the past four and a half years.
She was born in Seattle and graduated from Roosevelt High School where she met Don Waterman. They were married in 1938. Full Story

Born May 22, 1929, Myrna Jean Shay passed away peacefully Aug. 26, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Myrna is survived by her sister Beverly Severson, her sons Michael and John, daughter Chris and her grandchildren Dylan and Kayla.
