Fall sports begin in earnest this week
The Stanwood Spartan gridiron team opened its 2010 season by playing Kamiak’s Knights last Friday night at Bob Larson Stadium.
Due to an early deadline for the Labor Day holiday, results of that game will be posted in next week’s NEWS.

Roe swims Senior/ Junior Nationals
Last month Stanwood High School swimmer Matt Roe swam the 1500-meter freestyle at the Senior Nationals in Irvine, Calif. – one of only 91 young men from across the United States to qualify to do so. Full Story
Booster club launches membership drive
Stanwood High School’s AAAA Booster Club has begun its annual membership drive for the 2010- 2011 school year.
The nonprofit group of adults interested in further fostering academics, activities, athletics and the arts at SHS is an integral part of the local high school scene. Full Story
