JANE MCBRIDE BISSET
March 5, 1937 - August 28, 2010
Jane McBride Bisset, 1937 - 2010, passed away peacefully Aug. 28, 2010, after a long and courag geous battle with cancer. She was taken by the hand of the Lord to a quieter and gentler place.
Jane was born in Colfax, Wash., on March 5, 1937, to Ralph and Olga McBride. She grew up in Pullman, attending grade school and high school there. Upon graduating from high school, she attended the University of Washington where she was an active member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and a song leader for the UW football and basketball teams.
At the university, she met and married John Bisset, and the marriage lasted almost 52 years.
Through their married life, Jane and John worked and lived in Los Angeles, Seattle, and Chicago, before returning to the Northwest to beautiful Camano Island where they retired.
Jane was a very active member of St. Aidan Episcopal Church, as well as the Camano Island Country Gardeners and Mabana Flames. She loved her garden and working in the yard.
Most of all Janie loved her family and friends and her faith in the Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband John, daughter Joni Bisset, son James and Lynn Bisset, grandchild dren Jessica and Jack and identical twin sister Janet and Jack Fanning.
A memorial service and celebration of Janie's life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11, at 1 p.m. at St. Aidan Episcopal Church, 1318 E. SR 532, Camano Island.
