Pray for peace
Nearly 30 congregations are teaming up for peace, in the Stanwood/Camano Ministerial Association’s 24-hour prayer vigil, starting a minute after midnight on Sept. 11 at Camano Lutheran Church.
Phil Lewis, a chaplain at Josephine’s care center, is seeking members of the community’s many congregations in all denominations to lead prayers during the 24-hour period.
“We’re hoping to get participation from all the congregations in the area this year,” Lewis said.
Anyone who would like to reserve a specific hour to lead prayers should call Lewis at 360-941-6314 or 629-0132.
“We will call to confirm your time slot,” he said.
The association has a list of suggested prayer resources and readings appropriate for the occasion. Prayer leaders may choose to lead a silent vigil or play music, recorded or live, or use other prayers or devotions.
Lewis will be onsite the entire time to fill in and help leaders as needed.
Camano Lutheran Church is located at 850 Heichel Road.
