GEORGE HARLEN BRODLAND

Sept. 2, 1935 - Aug. 21, 2010

George Harlen Brodland passed away peacefully August 21, 2010, in Marysville with his loving family at his side. George was born in Mount Vernon September 2, 1935.

He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1953 and immediately went to Alaska and worked on a commercial fishing boat.

1954 he joined the Army and served in Korea until 1956. After he returned home, George worked for Audio Acoustics for 34 years and retired in 1995. He and his wife Ramona wintered in Yuma, Ariz., where he played guitar and sang in his bluegrass band, Southern Comfort.

He loved spending time with his family and true to his Norwegian heritage was an excellent fisherman and crabber.

He also enjoyed camping, hiking and wood working.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Ramona, his son Loren (Louise) Brodland, daughter Kristi Robbins, and daughter Susan (Dana) Jordan, 12 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

Truly a good man, his easy smile and humble presence will be greatly missed by all whose life he touched.

A graveside service was held Aug. 27 at Fir-Conway Lutheran Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service, 3 p.m. at the Fir- Conway Lutheran Church.
