More than ‘politics as usual’

Dear Editor:

I am writing regarding the article about a man named Nigel Herbig stalking John Koster on behalf of Rick Larsen.

The actions are the same as a stalker of a woman, and, however one may try to rationalize it away as just “a part of politics,” it is sleazy, dishonest and threatening.

My best friend was murdered by a stalker back in 1988. He dogged her steps wherever she went.

My point in relating this horror is that when I see the same intimidation tactics used on a candidate and family, it is classic stalking behavior.

Surely by now – 22 years after my best friend was murdered, there must be a successful legal way to deal with stalking other than calling it “politics as usual.”
