Recall all the commissioners
Dear Editor:
Before John Dean was elected as Island County Commissioner, my property taxes were half what they are today and the county was economically sound, with surpluses for emergencies.
Today, my property values keep dropping yet my taxes went up almost 9 percent this year. Full Story

More than ‘politics as usual’

I am writing regarding the article about a man named Nigel Herbig stalking John Koster on behalf of Rick Larsen.
The actions are the same as a stalker of a woman, and, however one may try to rationalize it away as just “a part of politics,” it is sleazy, dishonest and threatening. Full Story
Common practice among all politicians

I was very disturbed by your editorial in the Aug. 17 edition condemning the videotaping of a political candidate.
A person running for a public office appearing at a public event should not object to being videotaped. Indeed, candidates often pay to have their own appearances recorded. Full Story

Prosecute all lawbreakers

This is in response to the letter “Candidate owes residents an apology.”
Liz Tarbet, you accuse Kelly Emerson of being ignorant of the law in regards to posting political signs.
During an election year you see political signs on roadsides. It is the American way to express our freedom of choice for our candidates. Full Story
