Two women concerned after applying for jobs on Craigslist
Stanwood Police report
the following activities last
week:
• A 43-year-old Stanwood woman reported Aug. 18 an attempted Internet fraud/scam after responding to an ad for employment on Craigslist. She was suspicious of the money order sent to her and contacted the police before cashing it.
• Then, on Aug. 23, a 24- year-old Stanwood woman reported she had become the victim of fraud over the Internet, after responding to an ad for employment on Craigslist.
• A two-vehicle collision occurred Aug. 18 in the 7200 block of SR 532 when one vehicle failed to yield.
• On Aug. 20, a parent in the 28500 block of 74th Drive NW reported her 17- year-old daughter had run away.
• A deer ran into the roadway Aug. 23 in the 6800 block of SR 532 colliding with the left front fender of an oncoming vehicle.
• Theft of money from a forged check occurred on Aug. 14 and was reported Aug. 25 in the 27000 block of 92nd Avenue NW.
• A 17-year-old Stanwood boy in the 26800 block of 88th Avenue NW was referred Aug. 26 on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• A husband and wife had a verbal argument Aug. 26 in the 28100 block of 68th Avenue NW. No assault occurred and the male left before police arrived.
