Celebration of the Arts in Arlington
Arlington Arts Council has announced its Celebration of the Arts in Arlington will be held in conjunction with Art in the Park in Legion Park in downtown Arlington, Sept. 11 and 12.
Starting 2 p.m., Sat., Sept. 11, the celebration of the arts is an annual event when the AAC honors the artists who have contributed to its mission of bringing art to Arlington for the year, in an effort to inspire the community to attend the auction in October. Art in the Park includes music, about 30 artists who are AAC members and friends, and a display of art donated for the auction, which is set for Oct. 16. Tickets to the auction and dinner are $35 and will be available starting Sept. 11 through Oct. 12, at Brushstrokes art supply store, at 5702 172nd St., and Flowers by George, at 335 N. Olympic Ave. For information call Jean 360-435-5866.
Fall Fest in Mount Vernon
The 4th annual Fall Fest, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 25, celebrates and shares the bounty of Skagit’s fertile soil and local agriculture, presented by the Mount Vernon Downtown Association on First Street in downtown Mount Vernon. Fall Fest offers local produce and locally homespun arts, encouraging a reconnection with the land, an understanding of the benefits of eating locally grown food, and support of independent merchants.
Other highlights include a fiber arts display with live demonstrations, a community stage featuring local talent, and a beer and wine garden on Myrtle Street in front of The Trumpeter Public House.
