Community barbecue was lots of fun
Dear Editor:
All of us at Stanwood United Methodist Church want to thank all those who brought their “specialty” cars to our annual community barbecue on July 30.
The Twin City Idlers, members of the Camano Island Yacht Club and our own congregation participated in the showing of their vehicles, and it was such a colorful sight! Full Story
Parade
Thanks to all who helped
Dear Editor:
Spartan Spirit is alive and well in the communities of Stanwood and Camano Island.
The Stanwood-Camano Community Parade was a great success. A little bit of drizzle did not dampen the spirits of the parade participants or attendees. This year the parade had 87 participants compared to 62 in 2009. Full Story
We missed seeing Pug at parade
Dear Editor:
As a Stanwood native, it was sure fun to return to my hometown and attend the parade Saturday.
Something was definitely missing this year though: Pug Lund.
We met years back in the fall of 1975.
I was headed off to kindergarten, not quite 5, and he would pick me up at the old Lincoln High School. Full Story
Bridge
Thanks to the construction company
Dear Editor:
We would like to express our appreciation for the outstanding work accomplished during the construction on State Route 532 and the new Camano Gateway Bridge, which has replaced the Mark Clark Bridge.
This project has already greatly improved the safety and appearance of our area - and there is even more to come! Full Story
