Trailer fire still under investigation
The Port Susan Camping Club trailer fire, which hospitalized 79-year-old Erma Sullens and her 53- year-old son, Kevin, is still under investigation.
Gary Bontrager, Snohomish County deputy fire marshal, said at this point, the explosion and ensuing fire appear to be related to propane.
Bontrager said the trailer was attached to an addition, and both were a total loss. Full Story

Reardon names new planning director for county
Clay White has been named by Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon as the new director of planning and development for Snohomish County.
White, 36, has been director of Stevens County’s Land Services Department since 2004 and is president of the Washington state Association of Regional and County Planning Directors. Full Story

North County Regional Fire Authority reports the following calls in July: During the month of July, North County Regional Fire Authority reported to 166 calls, including three structure fires, 22 fire responses, 18 motor vehicle accidents, 102 medical calls, one water rescue, three hazardous material calls and 17 service calls. Camano Island Fire and Rescue has reported its July calls, with a total of 176, ranging from 127 medical calls, six motor vehicle accidents, two fire alarm calls, 11 residential fires, two commercial fires, three brush fires, six marine calls, 15 service calls, and four utility assists, bringing the total for the year up to 1,103.
