Volunteer campground hosts still needed at some DNR recreation areas

DNR is still looking for volunteer campground hosts for several of its recreation areas in the state. Hosts have two primary duties: They conduct general campground maintenance and act as a primary point of contact for campers.

All hosts must complete basic first aid training and pass a Washington State Patrol criminal background check.

While each DNR campground has unique characteristics and natural features, the sites are all considered rustic or primitive. Each site’s amenities vary.

DNR also needs a volunteer to tend to the gate at the Tiger Summit Trailhead parking area on weekends through Oct. 15.
