JAY KERSHNER
February 21, 1941 – July 02, 2010
Jay Kershner, loving husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend, fell asleep on July 20, 2010, to never wake again.
Born in Spokane to Ira Kershner and Marie Zumhoff, Jay lived most of his life in Stanwood.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Adee, six children, three siblings, and many grandchildren.
Jay was actively involved in the lives of his loved ones and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His interests included gold prospecting, playing Texas hold-em poker and yelling at the television during Seahawks games.
Jay had a very special relationship with his son, Jason. In his final days, he referred to Jason, as not only his son, but his brother as well. He was a man of great ideas and dreams that surpassed reality most of the time.
Always good for a laugh, Jay was a light-hearted man who always saw the best in people and never focused on the worst.
Always willing to lend a hand whenever he could, Jay never saw any situation through discriminatory eyes.
His passing has left a hole in all of our hearts as well as a hole in the pockets of the makers of shoe goo, hand sanitizer and duct tape.
Forever, we will remember to “Drive Carefully.”
