State employees get 10 extra days off, unpaid
July 12 was the first of 10 unpaid days off that many state employees are facing due to revenue deficits.
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) offices, the Department of Licensing, Washington State Patrol, Health Care Authority, Medicaid, i.e. most state agencies were closed July 12 for “unpaid, temporary employee layoff days.” Full Story
Six initiatives to be on the ballot, assuming they pass inspections
While the sponsors of initiative I-1068 to legalize marijuana growing, sale, transport and use by adults did not gather enough signatures to qualify for the ballot this year, six other groups did get the numbers they needed.
The bare minimum needed to qualify for the November ballot is 241,153 valid signatures of registered Washington voters. Full Story
