Molly Austin Shay
May 8, 1989 - June 28, 2010
Molly Austin Shay blessed our world with her presence for 21 years and left a hole in all our hearts when she left. She was a loving, caring person who enjoyed life to its fullest.
Molly is survived by her mother Debbie Shay, Stanwood, father Patrick and Ruthanne Shay of Edmonds, grandmother Vada Austin of Camano Island, Uncle Paul and Bonnie Austin, cousins Travis Austin and Scott Austin, most loving Godfather Dave Rowe, brother Ryan Shay, grandparents Bob and Nel Shay, Edmonds, uncles Matt Shay, Rob Shay and Mike Shay, aunts Mary, and Kari Shay.
Molly was born in Seattle and attended Stanwood Schools, graduated Stanwood High School, and attended Everett Community College.
Her true passion was the mountains. Molly was an experienced rock climber who enjoyed many days climbing at Exit 38, Vantage and Marymoor Park. She spent this last winter snowboarding and operating the Big Chief chair lift at Stevens Pass.
As Uncle Paul stated, “Molly had an addictive enthusiasm to enjoy life.” Molly was a giving person as shown by her ambitious contributions and participation for Relay for Life at Stanwood High School.
One of her mother’s fondest memories is of Molly calling from the top of the mountain describing how beautiful the stars were. She never took this beautiful world for granted.
There will be a celebration of Molly’s life on Sunday, July 11, 2010, from 1-4 p.m. at the Chalet at Camaloch Golf Course, 326 NE Camano Drive, Camano Island.
