Council updates building code
City gets into compliance with new international requirements
Stanwood City Council voted to amend the building codes Thursday evening.
The revisions were in response to the updated 2009 International Building Codes, which took effect July 1, and bring Stanwood into compliance with statewide measures. Full Story

Lois Jean Rice Chadwick left her earthly existence at daybreak Monday morning, June 28, 2010, surrounded by love and her nine children.
Born March 9, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., Lois relocated to California where, with the support of her family, she brought up her children as a single mother, sometimes holding two and three jobs to put food on the table. Full Story

Carl R. Hamlin, 78, of Camano Island, passed away on June 27, 2010, after an extended illness.
A memorial service is planned for later this summer.
