William “Bill” Edward Robinson
APRIL 25, 1938 - JUNe 23, 2010
William “Bill” Edward Robinson passed away peacefully on June 23, 2010 in Edmonds, at the age of 72, after several years of battling cancer.
He was born to Nellie and Edward Robinson on April 25, 1938 in Darrington.
Bill attended, played sports at, and graduated from Darrington High School in 1955. He served in the Army before attending Western Washington University for a degree in education.
He married Anna L. (Wold) Robinson on October 24, 1959 in Everett.
Bill completed his student teaching assignment in Sequim and then finished his teaching career in the Stanwood School District as a 4th- and 5th-grade teacher, where he molded many young people into Stanwood High School graduates through the years. He was dedicated to his profession and a pillar in the Stanwood School District for more than 30 years.
Many will remember “Mr. Robinson” as the teacher who walked the halls with Pat Neble, carrying their yardsticks and keeping every kid in line.
Bill loved the outdoors; he loved to be hunting, fishing and hiking with his friends and his son. He spent time perfecting recipes for his smoked trout and you could find him fishing at Blue Lake every spring. He was a strong member of the Stanwood-Camano Island community for 30 plus years.
After retiring from the Stanwood School District, he and Anna moved to Soap Lake where they bought and sold antiques and collectibles that they found at garage sales, auctions and estate sales, while enjoying their retirement.
Bill was a dedicated father, grandfather, teacher and friend. He will be missed by many.
He is survived by his son Eric Robinson, daughter-inlaw Trina Robinson, daughter Kristi Robinson, grandchildren Tashell (Norris) Erichsen, Paul Erichsen and Sky Norris, sisters Dorothy (Robinson) Schulz, Betty (Robinson) McMahan and Karen (West) Wensley and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Graveside services for Bill and his wife Anna will be together on July 24, 11 a.m. at the Darrington Cemetery, 1324 SR 530.
All friends and family are invited to help celebrate Bill and Anna (Wold). After the graveside service, please join everyone for a community luncheon at the Community Center in Darrington.
