Expensive jewelry stolen from home
Stanwood Police reported
the following actions in
the past few weeks:
• A resident in the 26300 block of 72nd Avenue NW reported June 18 that several pieces of expensive jewelry were discovered missing.
• A fraud complaint was reported June 25 in the 27700 block of 78th Avenue NW. Full Story

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Stanwood might sever affiliation with its national governing body, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

No CT service on Independence Day, July 5, no fireworks allowed on buses
Community Transit bus and DART paratransit service will not operate on either Sunday, July 4, or the federally-observed Independence Day holiday, Monday, July 5.

Police seek information on midnight race, crash
Detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) are looking into the fatal car crash of 21-year-old Andrew Tucker of Stanwood.
According to Rebecca Hover, spokeswoman for SCSO, Tucker and his friends were racing their vehicles late Thursday evening, June 17, after leaving a Stanwood business. Full Story
Extra patrols on July 4
Thanks to a state-funded overtime grant, Snohomish County law enforcement will be patrolling roadways through July 5 to help prevent traffic fatalities during the holiday weekend.
