Commissioners will receive a salary increase next year
Due to an oversight, the Island County commissioners and other elected county officials will indeed receive a 5 percent salary increase next year.
The raises are really nothing new, though.
Elaine Marlow, budget director, said the salary increases are automatic unless action is specifically taken against them. Full Story

Community Transit approves bond refinancing
The Community Transit Board of Directors today accepted a bid to refinance the agency’s outstanding debt in an effort to free up revenue needed for bus service for the next three years.
In 2004, the agency sought $12 million in bonds to help purchase new and replacement buses. Full Story
