Senior banquet honors Spartan athletic accomplishments
An audience of fellow students, parents, teachers, coaches and administrators gathered for the presentation of awards at the fourth annual Stanwood High Senior Athletic Banquet last week.

Tennis team garners recognition for 2010 season
Trudy Abrams and Ron Shanander handed out awards to their girls’ tennis team members earlier this month after they won their second consecutive Western Conference 4A North championship with a 15-1 overall record. They have now taken the WesCo title seven of the past 10 seasons. Full Story
Dillon and Garcia take home fourth soccer letters
Fifteen soccer players earned varsity letters as recently announced at the team’s seasonending banquet by head coach Scott Willsie.
Two of them, Tadele (Tad) Dillon and Jorge Garcia, received their fourth emblem in as many seasons of play.
Garcia also served as co-captain of the club along with James Postma and Dalton Alumbaugh. Full Story
Seniors Bingham, Jeans garner softball accolades
Sammy Bingham and Brittany Jeans continued to lead their softball teammates off the field even after they returned from the state playoffs.
The club’s only seniors, who served as co-captains this spring, each garnered their fourth letters during the fast-pitch squad’s recent recognition banquet. Full Story
