Father’s Day is 100 years old
We can thank Sonora Smart of Spokane for beginning the celebration of Father’s Day. Her father was widowed when his wife died while giving birth to their sixth child, and went on to raise all six of them by himself. When Sonora became an adult, she realized the courage and selflessness shown by her father. Full Story

Highest honor earned by local boy scout

Methodists, Josephine to share Van GO vehicles
The Stanwood United Methodist Church and Josephine care facility will share a 14-passenger, wheelchair lift-equipped mini-bus from Community Transit’s Van GO vehicle grant program.
The agency granted six surplus 8-passenger vans, three surplus 12-passenger vans and three surplus 14- passenger mini-buses to nonprofit groups from around Snohomish County. Full Story
