Student board member needed for library pilot project

Sno-Isle Libraries Board of Trustees and the Camano Island Library Advisory Board are accepting applications for a student member to fill a vacancy for the 2010-2011 school year. The board acts as an advisory body to the Sno-Isle Libraries Board of Trustees.

Along with all members of the board, the one high school student must be a year-round resident of Camano Island.

The board meets on the fourth Monday of each month at the Camano Island Library Pilot Project at Terry’s Corner and all board members are required to attend all regularly scheduled meetings.

The Camano Island Library is a temporary pilot project to test community interest in local library service, and is funded through a partnership between Sno-Isle Libraries and the Friends of the Camano Island Library.

Members of the advisory board report on matters of local interest relating to the general supervision of the pilot library facilities and programs.

The deadline for application is 5 p.m. Friday, June 18.

Students interested in serving on the board can pick up an application at the Camano Island Library and submit it to David Menard, branch manager, Camano Island Library, 848 N. Sunrise Blvd., Camano Island, WA 98282.
