Athletic club
Community should acquire and run it
Dear Editor:
Such an important, perhaps essential, community center in every sense of the word is certainly worth the community’s effort to save and restore it, and it’s clear by the recent Camano park that the community could do it.
I suggest, for example, Stanwood High School, or a similar local entity, should apply to the Gates Foundation for grant to get the sports club underway again.
It could be bought asis, be community-owned and operated, and returned to self sufficiency. I suggest a meeting to discuss details toward re-establishing a viable operating Stanwood sport/health club.
