Swindler sentenced for car theft

By ADAM STEWART Staff Reporter

The woman suspected of swindling a “wet man” left alone in his shower out of a laptop, wallet, cell phone, car keys and a Ford Mustang late last year has been sentenced in Snohomish County Superior Court.

In February, Ashley Dawson, 19, of Stanwood pleaded guilty to both counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

Rather than facing time behind bars, she will spend up to six months at a rehabilitation facility to treat methamphetamine addiction.

Superior Court Judge Thomas Wynne also ordered Dawson to two years under state supervision.

The young man and Dawson met on MySpace before partying together for car theft

prior to a promised shower back at his house, the owner of the Mustang reported to authorities.

The car was recovered.

A month later, she was arrested after stealing it again.

Apparently, she kept the keys from the first encounter.
