Old church provides home to exercise studio

Yoga students are stretching at StudioWest. Yoga students are stretching at StudioWest. A 100-year-old church in Stanwood’s west end is now StudioWest, a home for a new kind of spiritual pursuit.

Students can move through physical health in a variety of disciplines ranging from yoga to Pilates, Zumba, and dance, toward true wellness.

StudioWest’s old-growth fir floors, cathedral ceilings and natural light provide the perfect setting for disciplined work led by a variety of instructors. Each instructor runs his/her own, independent business.

StudioWest provides instructors with a community of like-minded practitioners with which to collectively market, share clients, and grow their businesses.

The anchor tenant, Movement Arts, offers yoga, Pilates and dance classes. Camano Island Zumba will be offering seven classes this summer, expanding to 11 in the fall. Tribal Fusion Belly Dancing is also using the space.

Yoga classes are now being offered at Studio- West. Yoga classes are now being offered at Studio- West. The owner, Jane Cassady, believes the time is right for this new venture.

“This spectacular space is something they don’t build anymore. StudioWest isn’t a gym, it is a place that combines community with wellness,” Cassady said.
