CIFR rescues three sturgeon fishermen

Camano Island Fire and Rescue (CIFR) crews helped three stranded sturgeon fishermen to shore Thursday morning.
The men, all in their mid-50s, were out in some already choppy weather when the waves suddenly kicked up about 8:30 a.m. and swamped the 20-foot boat, said Levon Yengoyan, assistant chief of CIFR. Full Story
CIFR calls January through April
Camano Island Fire and Rescue reports a total of 592 calls since the beginning of the year.
In April they made 142 calls: medical 102, motor vehicle accidents 5, residential fire 3, one commercial fire, two brush fires, service call 9, assist utility 20. Full Story

North County Fire reports 155 calls in April
For the month of April, North County Fire/EMS responded to a total of 155 emergency calls, three structure fires, 12 fire alarms, five fire responses, 110 medical emergencies, 10 motor vehicle accidents, 12 service calls, one water rescue, and two hazardous materials incidents, which brings the district total to 586 calls this year.
