Thanks for the great short stories
Dear Editor:
I have been reading with great pleasure the police reports from Island County.
All the details in each report make them into such interesting short stories!
Thank you, and keep it up.

Rustic Impressions
We hung in as long as we could
Dear Editor:
Five years ago we went on a venture to bring to Stanwood a new concept in home decor and furnishings.
We thought it was a great time and opportunity to open a little store in the east end of town and offer the community a place to shop locally and enjoy some old fashioned “customer service and sincerity.” Full Story

Sorry to say we have to close
Dear Editor:
I am writing this with a heavy heart. As most of you are aware I was asked as a favor by the landlord to come in and keep the Stanwood sports clubs open after the last owner was evicted in December 2008. Full Story

School district budget
Why not lay off high paid administrators?
Dear Editor:
Regarding the story, “District to drop 18 teaching positions,” the Stanwood- Camano School Board nor the superintendent makes any mention of cutting any administrators.
Why? The board should make it public, why they only are cutting back on teachers. Full Story
Thanks
For supporting White Cane Days
Dear Editor:
The members of the Stanwood Lions Club thank Haggen Food & Pharmacy and QFC for helping with their White Cane Days May 7 and 8.
Without their cooperation, we would not have had the success we enjoyed.
As usual, the citizens of the area were very generous. They contributed more than $2,700 at the two Stanwood locations. Full Story
