Three collisions in one day on SR532
Stanwood Police reported
the following action
last week:
• On May 8, three separate collisions occurred in on SR 532 in downtown Stanwood. Two vehicles collided in the 9000 block because one driver was following too closely and another two vehicles collided in the 9100 block, also due to following too closely. Then, three vehicles collided in the 8800 block, but not from following too closely. Rather, the driver said she had passed out. One driver was cited for improper lane usage.
• On May 6, an 18- year-old Arlington man in the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW was referred on possession of a dangerous weapon.
• A stereo was stolen May 6 from a vehicle in the 27200 block of 101st Avenue NW.
• On May 6, a vehicle window was broken out and a stereo and speakers were stolen in the 27900 block of Pioneer Highway.
• It was reported May 6 that a male took some plants and left the scene without paying in the 27000 block of 92nd Avenue NW.
• A bicyclist traveling at a high rate of speed collided May 7 with a vehicle that was stopped in the 8800 block of 271st Street NW. No injuries, but the vehicle was damaged.
• On May 7, a vehicle backed out of a parking stall in the 27000 block of 92nd Avenue NW, hit another parked vehicle and left the scene. The driver was later contacted and said he did not realize the impact.
• A 46-year-old Snohomish man was stopped May 8 in the 8800 block of 271st Street NW and subsequently booked into Snohomish County Jail for driving under the influence (DUI).
• A despondent female in the 26800 block of 94th Drive NW was transported for treatment May 8.
• On May 9, the ignition of a car in the 8400 block of Park Drive was damaged in an attempted vehicle theft, where unknown juveniles were witnessed at the scene.
• A 16-year-old Stanwood girl was referred May 10 for shoplifting (third degree theft) in the 26600 block of 72nd Avenue NW.
• A driver experiencing medical difficulty May 11 left the roadway in the 28000 block of 80th Avenue NW and hit a utility pole.
• A 24-year-old Stanwood man in the 8000 block of 283rd Street NW was ar- rested May 11 on warrants, and was also referred for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
• Three vehicles collided May 11 in the 8500 block of SR 532 and one driver was cited for following too closely.
• A 13-year-old Stanwood boy in the 7800 block of 265th Street NW was booked into Denny Youth Center May 11 for domestic violence assault and malicious mischief after a fight with his mother
• Several items were reported stolen at Stanwood High School in the 7400 block of 72nd Avenue NW during the week.
• A despondent 32-yearold woman in the 7200 block of 265th Street NW was transported for treatment May 12.
• A 32-year-old Stanwood man was arrested May 12 in the 27600 block of 72nd Avenue NW and booked into jail for stalking. He had been continually harassing a family for several months and his actions were increasing in intensity. When contacted, he was uncooperative with police.
• A 35-year-old Camano Island woman was referred May 12 for shoplifting in the 26600 block of 72nd Avenue NW.
• On May 12 a parent in the 8200 block of 272nd Street NW reported her 15- year-old daughter had run away. She was located a day later and returned home.
• 21-year-old Arlington man was referred May 13 for first degree criminal trespassing in the 9100 block of 271st Street NW. He was found intoxicated in a P.U.D. vehicle located inside a secured, fenced area.
• Two vehicles collided May 13 in the 9200 block of 272nd Street NW when one driver failed to yield.
• A driver hit another vehicle May 13 in the 10200 block of SR 532 and fled onto Camano Island where he was stopped. He was cited on several charges.
• A 30-year-old Stanwood man was booked into jail May 13 for disorderly conduct after a bar fight in the 8600 block of 271st Street NW.
