Island County requests proposal for substance abuse funding

May 28 is the due date for proposals to Island County Human Services for grants in support of substance abuse prevention designed to meet the needs of youth in Island County. Funding is for programs and services designed to prevent or delay the abuse of alcohol and/ or other drugs including tobacco.

The funds must be used between July 12, 2010 and June 30, 2011.

Applicants are required to use the “Risk and Protective Factor” framework developed by doctors Hawkins and Catalano at the University of Washington that the Island County Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention Program uses.

Proposals are due by 4 p.m. May 28.
