Employee admits ongoing theft, vehicle doors kicked in

• A resident reported that her car was vandalized in the parking lot of the Stanwood Library at noon, Monday, May 3. Both passenger doors of the SUV were kicked in, according to the car owner.

• A letter from Haggen Food & Pharmacy’s loss prevention investigator informed the NEWS that an employee at the Stanwood Haggen store was found to be taking merchandise without payment totaling an estimated $11,000 over three years.

Stanwood Police responded to the following incidents last week:

• Police are investigating an April 28 assault complaint reported in the 7600 block of 272nd Street NW.

• On April 29 police responded to a disturbance in the 6900 block of Church Creek Loop, and a 33-yearold Stanwood man was referred on domestic violence assault and harassment charges.

• A 14-year-old Stanwood boy is being referred on third degree theft charges after being contacted in the 26600 block of 72nd Avenue NW April 30.

• A 13-year-old Stanwood boy is being referred on malicious mischief after being contacted in the 7800 block of 265th Street NW April 30.

• A laptop computer was reported stolen April 30 in the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW.

• The investigation continues on a theft that occurred May 1 in the 27000 block of 92nd Avenue NW.

• A harassment/threat complaint occurred May 1 between in-laws due to a possible court order violation in the 8000 block of 274th Street NW.

• A complaint of theft occurred May 1 in the 7400 block of 284th Street NW after a package that was mistakenly left at the wrong address was gone when the driver went back five minutes later.

• A 36-year-old Camano Island woman who trespassed May 1 at a business in the 8700 block of 271st Street NW was later found and booked into Snohomish County Jail on theft charges.

• On May 1, a 32-yearold Camano Island woman in the 27000 block of 101st Avenue NW was booked on an outstanding warrant.

• A large metal sign was reported damaged May 2 in the 9500 block of 271st Street NW.

• A 41-year-old Mount Vernon man was arrested May 3 and booked for driving under the influence in the 8700 block of 271st Street NW, after his vehicle jumped the curb and collided with a building.

• On May 3, a citizen reported her vehicle had been vandalized while parked in the 9700 block of 271st St. NW.

• A harassment complaint was made May 3 in the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW.

• A 24-year-old Arlington woman was stopped May 4 in the 27700 block of 70th Avenue NW for driving with a suspended license, and subsequently booked into jail on an outstanding warrant.

• A fraud was reported May 4 in the 9900 block of 272nd Place NW.

• On May 6, a 32-yearold Stanwood woman was booked into jail on assault charges in the 27800 block of 69th Avenue NW due to ongoing family problems.

• A bike was stolen May 6 in the 9400 block of 271st Street NW.

• A 16-year-old Camano Island boy was referred May 6 on charges of being intoxicated in public in the 8800 block of 272nd Street NW.

• A 23-year-old Camano Island man was was booked into jail on an outstanding warrant May 6 in the 9800 block of 271st Street NW. He was driving with a suspended license and charged for possession of controlled substance.

• A motorcycle accident occurred May 6 in the 27200 block of 72nd Avenue NW when the driver experienced a mechanical malfunction and crashed off the roadway. The driver was transported to the hospital.
