Bomb threat at SHS

PHOTO BY ADAM STEWART | STANWOOD/CAMANO NEWS A written bomb threat found in a bathroom at Stanwood High School forced officials to evacuate students and staff on Tuesday.

Students gathered with teachers on the field at the stadium as law enforcement searched the school and grounds with K-9 units.

No device or bomb was found.

Students were back in class by 1:25 p.m.

Stanwood Police Chief Ty Trenary said the threat was reported shortly before 10 a.m.

Officers from Snohomish County Sherriff’s Office, Everett Police Department, Washington State Patrol and Stanwood Police Department worked together to determine the school was safe.

An investigation is ongoing.
