Volunteers needed
The time has come to build the playground
Two weeks from now the new playground at Freedom Park will be a reality.
The project that has been in the works for well over a year will soon be ready, so kids can jump, slide, swing and run.
As exciting as that sounds, there is still much to do.
As we move days closer, we still need volunteers, we still need tools, we still need materials, we still need funds, but most importantly we need you!
This community build project requires just that: community.
With well over 700 volunteers already signed up to help, it is probable that your friends and neighbors are involved.
Having raised $180,000 so far, surely you shop at one of the many businesses that has contributed to seeing this dream become a reality.
With more than 400 pickets sold, someone you know will have their name etched into the history that will be made the week of May 19-23.
These numbers may make you think, “Wow” and they are impressive.
But there are still things that you can contribute to the playground.
We are asking that you either purchase one of the remaining 11 components or contribute funds toward the total budget of $200,000; will you buy a picket to help keep the children safe and out of the street, or be one of the 100 volunteers still needed?
Will you help spread the word about the remaining needs?
Please keep in mind that childcare, meals and snacks will be provided for all volunteers.
Donated tools are guaranteed to be returned in the condition they were loaned, or better. Volunteers don’t need a construction background to help.
Please sign up at the Web site, iHeartParks.org.
The time has come: The Stanwood/Camano community is ready to play.
See you at the Rotary Freedom Park site May 19-23.
