HELEN (DOLLY) LOUISE PEdERSEN (SMOKE) MCCORMICK

MAY 7, 1929 - MARCh 23, 2010

Helen (Dolly) Louise Pedersen (Smoke) McCormick died in her sleep on March 23, 2010.

She was born in Alderwood May 7, 1929 to Albert and Bessie Pedersen.

The youngest of four children, Helen grew up in Stanwood, graduating from Twin City High School in 1947.

She married Art Smoke in October 1947 and raised four children on their farm in Arlington.

In November 1976, Helen married Bill McCormick. From their home base in Brinnon, Wash. on the peninsula, they enjoyed traveling around North America by sailboat, motorboat, motorcycle, motorhome and their van, making many friends on their journeys.

Helen is survived by her husband, Bill, and four dogs at home, her brother, John Pedersen (Joan) of Reno, Nev.. Her daughters Eileen Smoke of Mount Vernon and Ellen Sime (Scott) of Stanwood and her son, Russ Smoke (Susan) of Florida, and also Rhett McCormick and Mel McCormick (Marli) of Stampede Pass, and Michelle McCormick of Seattle.

She is also survived by her grandchildren and spouses: Peter, Katie (Neil), Colben (Sanae), Becky (Jason), Clark, Kim (Dube), Jessie (Tori), Kacee (Stephen), Mike (Courtney), Camille, Johnny (Jessica), Clark, Nichole (Jo), Meghan, Karli, Lindy, Alex, Cami, Chandra, and Aaron.

Helen was the proud great-grandmother, Nana, of Jacob, Julie, Kendra, Andre, Kallie, Klara, Ethan Allison, Teo, Delia, Kian and Keila.

She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families, as well as many dear friends she considered part of her family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, sister Ruth, brother James, and her son Bill.
