Jeans, Bingham combined once again for fastpitch victory
Improving their season record to 6-1 overall (3-1 in league) wasn’t easy for the local fastpitch nine.
Once again proving their resiliency, the Lady Sparts used the steadfast battery of pitcher Brittany Jeans and catcher Sam Bingham as well as their hitting to pull out an extra-inning 1-0 softball victory over Oak Harbor last week. Full Story
Spartans lose nine to two against Oak Harbor
Leading 1-0 after five innings, the Spartans baseball team hit a rough spot in the top of the sixth frame against Oak Harbor Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats took advantage of a pair of bases on balls, two hit batters, an error, a wild pitch and their only hit of the inning to go ahead of the Sparts 5-1. Full Story

Stanwood girls’ track and field squad scores well in two meets
Stanwood’s Lady Spartans captured their own track and field tri-meet on Thursday and then grabbed second place just behind Sehome in the Birger Solberg Team Invitational in Bellingham to finish a fine week of competition on Saturday. Full Story
