Voices of Children

Children who are raised by their grandparents or other relatives are invited to write a poem, a short essay, or make a picture that describes how living with a grandparent or an aunt or uncle has made positive differences in their lives.

Children from 5 to 19 years old will be judged in three age categories.

Poems should be 21 lines or less and essays, 200 words or less, and all writing must be unpublished. Drawings should be as big and bold as possible on white, unlined paper, with a statement attached, explaining the picture.

Entries must be submitted by April 16 and winners will be notified in early May.

All entries may be published in a book called “Voices of Children raised by Grandparents and Other Relatives.” The top two in each category will receive $100 from Twin Star Credit Union.

To request an entry form, call 877-813-2828 or e-mail to ShellyWillis1@qwest.net.
