Soccer eleven halve week’s contests

The Spartan booters (3- 2-2) split their two spring break matches with a narrow loss to Lake Stevens and a lopsided victory over the Arlington Eagles.
Still among the top four teams in the league, the Sparts lost a 1-0 shutout to the Vikings after Vasily Bogdanoff scored in the fourth minute for the visiting Vikings.
Stanwood goaltender Dalton Alumbaugh held the WesCo 4A North team to no goals after that initial score.
Two days later, on Wednesday, the Spartans eclipsed arch-rival Arlington by a 4-1 tally.
Senior forward Brendan Schlagel knocked two balls past the Eagle keeper. Joining him were Mickey Brown and James Postma with a goal apiece.
