SHS junior nominated for dairy princess/ambassador
Marissa Levi of Stanwood is one of six young women vying for the title of Snohomish County Dairy Ambassador.
The Snohomish County Dairy Women’s 55th Dairy Princess/Ambassador banquet will be held April 17 at Viking Hall in Silvana. One of six candidates will be selected to represent Snohomish County dairy farmers for the coming year.
Among the six is Marissa Levi, a junior at Stanwood High School. She bought her own Jersey dairy calf five years ago, and the family processes the milk for cheese, ice cream, butter, and drinking. Marissa is a seven-year 4-H member, and currently the president of her club. She is also an FFA member, and has shown her dairy projects at local fairs, earning many top awards for dairy type, fitting and showing top awards. She has also shown pygmy goats, and has been on the Quiz Bowl team for six years.
Marissa plans to attend Skagit Valley College in the Running Start program next year, then move to Washington State University, where she will pursue her goal of becoming a veterinarian.
The other candidates are Corina Ross-Cantu of Snohomish, Emily Neff of Marysville, Leah Peek of Arlington, and Sharron Rodeffer of Snohomish.
