New manager for Snohomish Conservation District
Monte Marti
Monte Marti has been selected to be the new district manager of the Snohomish Conservation District.
Marti comes to the district after more than 25 years as a manager with Verizon Northwest. He served as a member on the district’s volunteer board of supervisors for the past 25 years and worked for the district for a short time in the 1980s.
“This was a natural choice for us,” said Bobbi Lindemulder, acting district manager. “Monte knows the district’s history and operations better than most, plus he knows the staff, our partners, and many of the farm and rural landowners we’ve helped over the years in both Snohomish and Island counties.”
While he was a volunteer supervisor, Marti also served the Washington Association of Conservation Districts as their secretary/ treasurer and as a northwest area director, and was a member of the Plant Material Center Advisory Board.
Marti holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics and a Master of Arts degree in agricultural economics, both from Washington State University.
“I’m looking forward to working with district farmers, partners, and rural and urban landowners to implement on-the-ground projects, and help citizens learn how best to manage the natural resources entrusted to them,” Marti said.
