Propane pricing

Dear Editor:

I just had my leased tank filled March 9. The 120 gallon tank took 95.1 gallons at $2.29 a gallon, which is 30 cents cheaper than three months ago.

The propane company I deal with is APP out of Tacoma.

As for Mr. Sullivan, who got 176.5 gallons three years ago at $1.86, he wasn’t complaining about that! Hense the problem.

You’re not buying on a regular schedule.

But Mr. Sullivan never mentions what the propane was used for.

My calculation is he’s using 4.9 gallons a month for 36 months for either a propane fireplace, a stove top or barbecue. It would almost be better for Mr. Sullivan to get a 10 gallon bottle and fill it every two months for 18 months for the total of $300 – 350, depending on the price per gallon. But what the heck, it’s his money.

How much money did you save being frugal and limiting your usage?

With APP, the bigger the tank, the less you pay per gallon on a regular schedule (not every three years).
