Kite surfer tangles with lines

Sunday afternoon, a Kayak area kite surfer got a little more caught up in the sport than he intended.

While taking advantage of gusting winds and enjoying a few gray whales along the shoreline about half a mile from Kayak Point Regional Park, the man tangled his ankle in the lines and was unable to free himself. The surfer shouted for help, and fortunately his calls were heard.

Shortly afterwards, a North County Regional Fire Authority rescue boat was launched to retrieve the surfer and his equipment. He reported no injuries as he arrived to shore from the rescue boat.
