100th anniversary of Sons of Norway District

Normanna Lodge 3, Everett, will host the District 2 Sons of Norway convention, May 19-22. District 2 includes Stanwood’s Fritjov Lodge, as well as all of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and part of Wyoming. The convention marks the 100th anniversary of District 2, Sons of Norway, as well as several other lodges in the district.

Sons of Norway lodges over the years have been a vital part of the communities in which they are located, dedicated to preserving and promoting Scandinavian traditions and culture. Many lodges offer Scandinavian language classes, breakfasts, dinners, crafts, bazaars, dances and dance lessons, and sponsor team sports, scholarships, in addition to financial and insurance products.

Normanna Lodge is preparing for this important convention for those of Scandinavian descent, which will be held at the Everett Holiday Inn and Normanna Lodge. It is anticipated there will be well over 200 delegates, in addition to guests and dignitaries.
