Historic home tour
Seven vintage homes of the La Conner area will be featured in the first Historic Home Tour presented by the Skagit County Historical Museum 11 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 3. The homes are the John Peck House/Katy’s Inn (1882), the Baptist Parsonage (1880s), the Gaches Mansion/La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum (1891), the Bethsaida Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church Parsonage (1894), the Armstrong House (1895), the John Gaghan Home (1900- 1901) and the Queen of the Valley Inn (1908). The tour price includes entry to the museum, refreshments, tour maps and historic information about each home.

Gray whales cruise
The gray whales are back in Saratoga Passage and the public is invited to join the WSU Island County Beach Watchers to watch them from the 100-foot Mystic Sea charter cruising out of La Conner at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 10, a fundraiser for Beach Watchers.

Tulip Pedal
The 29th annual Group Health/Safe Kids Skagit County Tulip Pedal starts at La Conner Middle School Saturday, April 17. A fundraiser for child injury prevention efforts in Skagit County, as led by Safe Kids Skagit County, under its lead organization, Skagit County Medic One, the Tulip Pedal draws hundreds of cyclists from around the country who take in views on 20, 40 and 60-mile courses around tulip fields between Mount Vernon and La Conner.
