Infection from salmon threatened fisherman’s life
Angler Gary Christensen of Marysville knows local waterways throughout the region. He often fishes for salmon with friends on the Stillaguamish River near Stanwood.
Late last year, he was having an exceptionally successful day on the Skagit River outside of Concrete.

Health care coverage for all by 2014

Health care reform is one signature away from becoming law, thanks to lawmakers in the other Washington who were willing to take part in a marathon Legislative session on Sunday. The House approved the Senate-approved health care bill by a 219 – 212 vote. And revisions to it, called the reconciliation bill, by a 220 – 211 margin. Full Story
GARY ROGER LUNZ
MArCH 16, 1952 – MArCH 14, 2010
Gary Roger Lunz, born March 16, 1952, died peacefully at home on Camano Island March 14, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born and raised in Ballard, Gary lived in the Puget Sound area his whole life. He married Debbi Thomas in Seattle on June 7, 1975, and when they settled on Camano Island in 1995 they knew they had truly found home. Full Story
Allie Lee Atkinson
July 24, 1930 – March 20, 2010
Allie Lee Atkinson, born July 24, 1930 in Seattle, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 20, 2010, at her home in Stanwood.
Allie was born in Seattle to Carl and Phyllis Brattain.
She graduated from Forrest Ridge Convent and married Raymond Atkinson on December 1, 1951. Full Story
ROGER KASTNING
OCTOBER 19, 1933 – MARCH 9, 2010
Roger Kastning was born October 19, 1933 in Govan, Saskatchewan to German emigrants Gaylord and Georgia Kastning. In 1947 the family moved from Govan to Ellensburg. Rober graduated from Thorp High School in 1951.
He met Edna Henson on a blind date in 1952 and they were married on April 11, 1953.
Roger was in the Army for two years, May of 1953 to May of 1955. Full Story
