National Ag Day
The painting “Cows for milking,” by Nathan Drushinin, will be among those featured in La Conner at the Northwest Masters @ Seaside Gallery “Early Spring” show, and ties in very neatly with celebration of National Agriculture Day. Because dairying is such an obvious part of the Stanwood-Camano landscape, Drushinin’s painting draws attention to the nation’s amazing farmers who feed us, clothe us and fuel the world. A reception to meet Drushinin and 10 other artists, is set for Sat, March 20, 4 to 8 p.m., 112 Morris Street in La Conner. Hours of the show, running until May 9, are Friday to Sunday, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; for details, call 360-466-5141. There is a low-watt radio station that one can hear along the I-5 corridor, “InFARMation,” 1630 on the car radio dial. It has agricultural updates as to what is growing in the fields at the current time, news about migratory birds, what we grow, etc.
