Eidsness, Pelham and Studley win multiple season-end wrestling awards

Fellow seniors Joe Eidsness and Mark Pelham, who served the Spartan wrestling team as co-captains, were each four-year letter winners this winter.
Eidsness, in addition, was honored as Most Inspirational Wrestler and was surprised to hear head coach Ray Mather announce his name as a winner of the Washington Interscholastic Academic State Championship for his weight class, 160 pounds.
Other awards given out to Spartan wrestlers were Most Improved: Michael Randall; Most Takedowns: Jarred Studley; and Most Pins: Jarred Studley.
Studley, a junior, was the only member of the squad to earn his third-year letter as well.
Second-year letter winners were Alex Hatley, Brad Gee, Bryce King, Kyle Bennett, Travis Stone, Wade Weinert and Casey Mather.
Taking home their first emblems were Clayton Jacks, Laura Charboneau, Savannah Phillips, Kelsey Blom, Courtney Hubbard, Amanda Johnson, Whitney Weinert, Michael Randall, Mike Anderson, Joe Spohn, David Aufai, Trent Larson, Zach Schut, Nathaniel Zinkand, Nick Kinsman, Jacob Scott and Josh Tcheng.
Certificates of participation were handed out to Tyler White, Leif Small, Tyler Ross, Jacob Ross, Trevor Pedroza, Kasey Pedroza, Aaron McDaniel, Matt McDonald, Nick Lewis, Frank Kelly, Jacob Johnson, Marcus Jewell, Cody Hoskins, Easton Hodges, Jordan Hanzeli, Kris Hanke, Neil Hamilton, Davon Day, Casey Cook and Austin Brandt.
Brooke Peters earned her fourth letter as manager of the team while Erica Shaw received her first emblem.
McCall Holm (4th year) and Kyla McGovern (certificate) were this year’s trainers.
Brad Gee (sixth), Laura Charboneau (fifth), Casey Mather (sixth) and Whitney Weinert all wrestled at Mat Classic XXII this past February.
