CYNTHIA LIMON

Cynthia Limon passed away peacefully in her family home Sunday, February 21, 2010 surrounded by her children and husband. She was 51 and a half to the day.

She served as a speech and language pathologist for the Stanwood-Camano School District for 12 years spending most of her time at Cedarhome Elementary School. She also served at Lakewood School District. Prior to moving to Washington she worked at both Napa and Sonoma state hospitals in California.

She received her education and training at Humbolt State University and was originally from Chula Vista, Calif.

In June of 2004 she was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer and was given six months to live. For years she proved that diagnosis wrong. Through seven surgeries and numerous recoveries and transformations, she walked the peaks and valleys of the disease with strength and grace.

She lived her last fiveand a-half years in complete presence and appreciation of life.

She is survived by her husband Ken, her daughter Ada, her sons Cyrus and Bryce, and her grandson Dimitri.

The family held an intimate celebration of life on February 27 at the house she designed and built. They ask that any commemorative gifts be donated to the American Cancer Society.
